SUPPORTING CHILDREN OF PEACE

 

Janine uses her art to support the international charity "Children of Peace", started by her husband Richard Martin.

Children of Peace is a UK based, multi-faith charity that aims to build peace, trust and reconciliation between 

Israeli and Palestinian children, aged 4-17, in the region. 

 

Working with over 100 grassroots organisations, "Children of Peace" is helping to build a unique coalition of peace

in Gaza, Israel, Jordan and the West Bank by supporting local projects in the arts, education, health and sports.

2009 Cork Street Open Exhibition for Charity

In August this year, "Children of Peace" was the charity chosen by Kathryn Roberts, Director of the Annual Cork Street Open.

Entries came from all over the world, and the Art Show was opened by Sir Derek Jacobi, the Patron of COP. Almost £1,500 was raised

for the charity that night.

 

2008 Charity Private View at the Courtyard Hereford

A successful Charity Private View was held at Janine's One Woman Retrospective last March, where over 240 guests came to support

Children of Peace, including Lord Strathclyde, Bishop Priddis and his wife, Councillor Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes, Trustee Virginia Taylor and charity Friend Jesse Norman. Trustee Richard Clifford and Sir Derek Jacobi opened the show, Alex James, a Friend, kindly sponsored the wine and over £1,200 was raised for COP.
